Our history
To properly taste Eredi Cobelli's wines, let’s learn their history.
The Cobelli family arrived in Sornì di Lavis looking for work and a place to live immediately finding work as "famei". The famei were people who by hunger (hence the name) worked in exchange for food and a place to live. The Sorni area has long been an area with a strong wine-growing history: a hilly strip situated between Via Claudia Augusta and Via Romea, the 2 most important roads existing during the Roman Empire. Written reports are mixed with the oral tradition on when the Cobelli Family settled at number 22 Maso Panizza di Sopra. It is said that, in love with these hills, they managed to buy part of the properties from the nobleman Domenico De Panizza di Taio. From that moment on, the love and the art of cultivating this land is a legacy that has been handed down from generation to generation for over 150 years.
Between the pages of the Cobelli Family’s history MEMORIES and DREAMS are somehow merged and mixed, as well as the PAST with the FUTURE. Those who choose to visit the Azienda Agricola Eredi di Cobelli Aldo in Sornì di Lavis, will have the pleasure of living both these memories and dreams in the PRESENT.
THE MEMORIES represent the bond with the family, with father Aldo and the ancient wine-making art of Trentino. The DREAMS are the future to which we aspire and continue to develop every day. At the Azienda Agricola Eredi di Cobelli Aldo, the dreams the Cobelli Brothers had as children have become the reality of their adult lives.
